Antonio S. Fonseca and Dianne Fonseca have been active owners in Packaging & More since its inception in 1993. Lifelong Rhode Islanders, the Fonsecas met in 1968 while working together at Big G Supermarkets. While Dianne went on to teach high school Spanish and Italian, Tony pursued a career in the grocery industry, eventually leaving the retail side in the mid 1980s and joining Roger Williams Foods, a grocery wholesaler in Lincoln, RI. After successfully commencing the packaging division at Roger Williams, a series of acquisitions and mergers left Tony thirsting to run his own operation. In 1993, he gambled that with his local connections and a growing need for a Southern New England based packaging distributor, Packaging & More would thrive in and around the Providence area. He was right.

Married in 1971, the Fonsecas have lived in Smithfield, Rhode Island since 1975. Tony was born and raised less than a mile from Packaging & More’s current location. He is a veteran of the United States Navy and the Vietnam War. Since 2005, both of Tony and Dianne’s sons, Tony and Vincent, have been with the company full time.

SalesJonathan Baptista, a talented executive chef and former US Marine, joined the Packaging & More team in 2019.   Following three overseas wartime deployments, Jon retired from the Marines in 2005 to join his parents and work at The Narragansett Inn on Block Island.  There he discovered peace in the comradery and intense work of the kitchen.

Continuing to hone his craft, and express himself through food, Jon spent a decade in and around Providence’s Italian restaurant scene.  Small stints in Boston (French cuisine), Madrid, Spain, and again Block Island, furthered his culinary education.   Since 2012, Jon has worked exclusively as an executive chef or consultant in the local Rhode Island restaurant scene. Clearly the most well-rounded food service member of the sales force, Jon thrives helping customers deal with similar back of the house issues he also once faced.  When he’s not working, Jon enjoys spending quality time with his wife and children.
